50 Years Old

As of Saturday at 4 am in the morning, my dad is now 50 years old. Needless to say that it sounds old, but he really does not look all that old, nor does he feel that old. Our church threw him a big party yesterday afternoon. He was dreading it for the last two weeks, but on the way home last night declared that, "it was a lot of fun- much better than I expected." Around 120 people showed up to help us celebrate the "memorial service for his youth" including his brother Keith and his mother. The party was equipped with a funeral sermonette, eulogy to my dad, and even the traditional funeral luncheon of jello and sandwiches as an option for food. It was a bit emotional but sprinkled with a ton of humor therefore making it overall a very good time!
