after going to service with T and K. We hit a bit ofMaunday Thursday Chicago traffic...who knew lots of people like to travel on the Thursday of Easter. After stopping at Culvers we continued our journey home. The road was smooth, traffic light, and the night young (is midnight young?)...then we hit northern Michigan. Even though it was dark we could plainly see that it was SNOWING!! ARG!!! We arrived home at 3:15 and went to bed.Friday was spent at home just chatting. We went to the Good Friday service where I told people it was warmer in Wisconsin (is that possible?). After service we watched Disney channel!!
Saturday Justin and I woke up and waited for my sister before heading to town in the SNOW!! We ran all around town (ok we drove) to find a shirt, shoes, and whatever else caught our eye. We also saw "Meet the Robinsons" in 3-D. They were popping out of the screen...plus we got these SWEET glasses. That night we had home-made lasagna and veggies.Dying Easter eggs is always a tradition in our house. This year
Justin added a special touch as he decided to draw faces on his eggs before dying. His "egg people" wore ties, bowties, had hair, and other human-like features. The rest of us weren't that creative, but they sure were colorful! Phil likes to color his as fast as he can. I like to make mine nice and dark so the colors are bright. Hannah likes to put stickers and shrink-wrappers on hers because she feels bad for them. Whoever the individual, coloring eggs is a tradition that will stay alive in our house for years to come.
Sunday morning we woke up (yes there is/was still snow on the ground) and readied ourselves for church. We first attended the Easter breakfast put on by the men of Immanuel. Following breakfast was some children's time where I did a devotion using jellybeans, there was an Easter egg hunt, and then there was a craft. Church followed this child-filled time. Finally we came home to search for our Easter baskets! YES!! (Family pictures were first of course.) Dinner was just served and eaten...now it's time for a nap!HE IS RISEN! HE IS RISEN INDEED! ALLELUIA!
