Last "First Week of College"

August 25, 2009 marked the first day of my last year here at CUW. Being an education student provides me with a last year at CUW packed with academics and practice. I am in "The Block" which is going to be a lot of fun, but also a lot of work. Some of my fellow classmates are freaked out about almost being "real teachers" but I am so excited and ready for it. Student Teaching is also just around the corner for me and that is also an exciting, but nerve-racking thought.

Being a senior on campus allowed me to get top pick of a room, so this year my roommates and I chose to live in the 5th floor of Coburg, the new residence hall. I must say waking up each and every morning to the sunrise over the lake is spectacular. Goodbye days in Heidelberg and Wartburg, hello Coburg with a view! This was well worth waiting for.

Other differences for this year: My cousin is now a freshman here at CUW. This is so great because I have NEVER had a family member go to school with me (other than siblings in elem. school) and it is very awesome to have someone from my family who can relate to my college experiences. Also, I barely know any people here on campus anymore because my close friends have all graduated, but it's never too late to make new ones.

So here's to my last "First Day of School" (as a college student).

Happy first week of school! Make sure you ENJOY this last year ... enjoy the block, enojy everything you get to experience. Kelly always says that she wishes she would have taken better notes on this or that, because when you get to the classroom, you don't get many chances to observe, ask questions, etc.

I totally remember how, all of a sudden, you look around the BBC, library, and chapel, and wonder, "WHO ARE these people?!"

And... WOW! What an awesome view. Send us pictures of the new room/hall on e-mail, ok?
