Transitions

For the past week I have been pre-student teaching in the 7th grade at First Immanuel. Right away I saw a HUGE difference between the 4th and 7th graders and their reactions to teachers, projects, questions, etc. The 7th graders are obviously a lot more moody than the 4th graders, but also a lot more intimidating. It's quite funny to be the teacher and yet have students that are taller than me. I had a few rough days when teaching math because it was hard to judge my cooperating teacher's reactions to my lessons- if she did not tell me her thoughts I thought every move was a negative reaction to my teaching. Once I discovered that her personality is obviously different than mine, I took the initiative to talk to her and present myself professionally and friendly. She responded positively to this, which made my last 2 days there awesome!!

Thursday afternoon was awesome because we found out our Student Teaching Placements....drum roll please:

Immanuel, Brookfield, WI- 5th grade
McLane Elementary, West Bend- 5th grade

It is so hard to believe that I am now at the point in my education that I get to student teach. I know it will be the largest learning experience for me out of everything I have done at CUW. I am so ready though!!
