Plotting, Planning, and Purposing

Before the month of September had fully passed, J and I thought it would be fun to go visit T and K over Fall Break which was in October. We then devised a plan that include not telling T what was planned and forcing K to keep it a secret. It became a month of secret phone calls, email messages, and encouragement to keep our mouths closed. Needless to say it was fun hearing from J and K who talked to T who absolutely had no idea what was going on. :-)

The adventure began at 5:45 am when we left J's house to travel to Chicago to catch a train. We parked at some friends' house who drove us to the Metra which we missed and had to catch a local transit which put us at the train station and on the train with 4 minutes to spare. Phew!! Then came the 5 1/2 hour train ride which consisted of reading, sleeping, talking, and crocheting!

Finally at 3:10 we arrived in SL to be picked up by K and driven to her home, but not before stopping to pick up a few last minute items at the grocery store. Once we arrived at their apartment we got the grand tour and then began to catch up. As K put together a fruit platter I went into their office to wrap a gift, followed by J. He asked me if I wanted to surprise T and K and I was utterly confused. He then got down on one knee and took a ring out of his pocket to put on my finger- yes we got engaged! The clincher was that I couldn't wear the ring until T got home so that they could find out together. We were all so nervous over T's reaction that we played a game of Rumicube.

Once T called to tell K he was on his way home we cooked up some dinner. When T got home he was confused and then excited over our engagement.

The sequence of activities for the weekend included:
....Dinner and catching up
....Hanging in K's classroom
....Grocery shopping for soup
....The boys were at the seminary
....Baking cookies, brownies, and pie
....Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin
....Visiting the Arch
....Union Station
....Pumpkin Farm
....St Charles- dinner at a pub
....Winery
....Carving pumpkins
....Church
....Scene It
....Packing up

You just had to put the apron picture on here! Geez! I suppose that is what I get for being such a nice person who willing does what friends with crazy ideas ask him to do. Thanks K, it is all your fault.
